HOUSTON, Texas (Oct. 17) - The University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, in conjunction with the Houston Athletics Foundation, will hold a press conference on Friday, October 27, beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Athletics/Alumni Center.

The press conference will allow the local media an opportunity to interview the 10 new inductees to the Houston Hall of Honor. The 2000 inductees are as follows: Otis Birdsong (basketball), Leroy Burrell (track and field), Fred Couples (golf), Doug Drabek (baseball), Steve Elkington (golf), John & Rebecca Moores (philanthropy), Rich Stotter (football), Andre Ware (football) and Tom Wilson (athletics trainer.)

The 2000 Hall of Honor Gala is set for 6:30 p.m. later that evening in the Yeoman Fieldhouse inside the Athletics/Alumni Center.
