Vik Alvarez returns to Houston as the Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement after spending 20 months at UNLV where he served as Associate Director of Marketing and Game Presentation.

Alvarez oversees the marketing and game presentation efforts for the Houston Cougar Baseball program.

At UNLV, Alvarez oversaw the marketing and game presentation efforts for the UNLV football and Runnin' Rebel basketball programs, the marketing internship program, and assists with all 16 varsity programs.

Alvarez spent two years as the assistant director of marketing and fan engagement and two years as a graduate assistant at Houston from 2021-23. On Cullen Blvd., he served as the primary marketing contact for Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, Track & Field, social media efforts and the marketing internship program.

Alvarez is a native of Harlingen, Texas and earned a Master of Arts in Sports Administration (2021) from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Sport, Event, and Tourism management (2019) from the University of Texas at San Antonio. As an undergraduate, Alvarez volunteered and worked in the Marketing department of the UTSA Athletic Association.
