Reid Johnson joined Houston Athletics in September 2026 as Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities and Event Operations following just over one year at Texas A&M-Texarkana.
Prior to UH, Johnson most recently served as the Associate Athletic Director of Operations and Facilities at Texas A&M Texarkana. For the Eagles, he led all internal operations, including serving as the Chief Budget Officer for the athletic department and managing the overall budget, individual team accounts, drafting and executing all facility and game contracts, booking all team and individual travel, overseeing all athletic facilities, and assisting with the transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II. Additionally, Johnson created a strategic plan to launch a brand new football program and worked closely with the Associate Vice President of Operations to design a new $70 million football stadium and fieldhouse.
Before coming to TAMUT, Johnson served as the Director of Football Operations and Recruiting at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota where he planned and executed all team travel and spearheaded the team’s recruiting efforts. He has also worked for the athletic departments at Syracuse University, the University of Minnesota, the University of Minnesota Duluth, and Concordia University St. Paul.
Johnson earned two degrees from the University of Minnesota – a Master’s Degree in Education/Sports Management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Design and Planning. He is originally from Duluth, Minnesota.
