Dr. Irvin Sulapas

- Team Physician – Primary Care Sports Medicine
Irvin Sulapas, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family & Community Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He is board certified in both family medicine and sports medicine.
He is also the medical director for the University of Houston Master of Athletic Training program.
Sulapas completed his undergraduate at the University of Texas, majoring in biomedical engineering, and then proceeded to medical school at Ross University. He subsequently did his family medicine residency and sports medicine fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas.
In his clinical practice, he enjoys taking care of active individuals and providing concussion management. He has a passion for education and currently serves as faculty for the family medicine residency and sports medicine fellowship at UTHealth Houston.
Sulapas has extensive experience is taking care of athletes from the high school level to the collegiate and professional ranks. He currently serves as a team physician for University of Houston, University of St. Thomas, and the Houston Dynamo FC. He also serves as one of the medical captains for the Chevron Houston Marathon, and a team physician for USA Rugby.
Sulapas has previously been team physician for the Houston Sabercats and Texas Southern University.
