Alex Johnson joined the University of Houston Athletics Department as associate director for sports medicine in January 2023.
In his current role, Johnson works with the Houston Men's and Women's Cross Country and Men's and Women's Track and Field teams. He assesses the needs of individual student-athletes and develops training plans to promote health athletic abilities.
A native of Chicago, Johnson received his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Houston in 2019, graduating cum laude.
He earned his master's degree in athletic training in 2023 from Houston.
Johnson is a licensed athletics trainer and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, UH Athletics Training Student Society, and Greater Houston Athletics Trainers Association.
He lives in Houston.
