Is the Cougars[apos] No. 1 punter as fall camp opens... also is vying for kickoff chores... talented specialist who has worked hard for four years to refine his skills... put on 25 pounds of muscle since arriving four years ago without hampering kicking skills... has an extremely strong leg and has worked hard to harness accuracy and punt placement... 2005: Booted all but eight of the Cougars[apos] punts... appeared in 11 games, including each of the last nine... was injured against Sam Houston State during the Robertson Stadium opener... returned to the Cougar lineup at Tulsa... booted six punts for an average of 41.7 yards per kick against Tulane... blasted a 55-yard punt and placed three kicks inside the 20-yard line against the Green Wave... recorded a 54-yard kick at C-USA rival UCF... averaged 44.9 yards on seven punts against Kansas in the Fort Worth Bowl... placed four punts inside the 20-yard line and nailed a season-best 59-yarder... 2004: Served as the Cougars punter in seven of 11 games last season... Finished the season with a 39.8 average on 28 kicks... Entered the year as UH[apos]s number-one punter, lost job and then regained it at the end of the season... Booted three punts for an average of 39.0 yards per kick... Blasted a 45-yard effort and placed one within the 20-yard line against the Owls... Punted eight times, including a long of 57 yards, and placed two punts within the 20-yard line at No. 2 Oklahoma... Drilled three punts for a 39.0 average with one inside the 20 against Army... Suffered first blocked kick of his career against Miami (Fla.)... Still averaged 38.2 yards on five kicks in the game... Finished the 2004 season strong, averaging 41.0 against UAB and 43.3 versus Louisville... Nailed one inside the 20 versus the Cardinals... 2003: Made his collegiate debut on a kickoff against UAB during the Cougars[apos] bowl-clinching win... 2002: Redshirted as a true freshman... High School: Prepped at Lee High School in Baytown, Texas, where he was a member of the Houston Chronicle State Top 100 squad... also a Dave Campbell[apos]s Texas Football Lone Star All-Star Team K finalist... was a finalist for the Lone Star All-Star Game... named Special Teams Player-of-the-Year... selected as an All-State punter... was both a First-Team, All-District kicker and punter... was part of a Lee squad that finished 10-2 in 2001...
