T.J. Randall joined Houston Football as its Assistant Director of Player Personnel in March 2022 before transitioning into his current role as Director of Scouting in February 2023. In his current capacity, he focuses on player evaluations with an emphasis on the Transfer Portal while assisting with all offensive-related recruiting efforts. He also handles advanced scouting, providing Houston coaches detailed breakdowns of upcoming opponents. Additionally, Randall manages all player personnel interns.
Prior to Houston, Randall spent four years at Liberty University (2018-21) in a host of capacities including Football Operations (2018), Recruiting Graduate Assistant (2019), Recruiting Assistant (2020) and Assistant Director of Player Personnel (2021). With the Flames, he assisted with weekly budgetary and financial operations and in-season travel planning in addition to coordinating schedule of team meals and various day-to-day duties both in and out of season. He also assisted with the evaluation of running back prospects and preparations of recruiting travel. Randall came to Liberty from the University of La Verne in La Verne, California, where he served as a Football Video Assistant from 2016-17.
Randall is native of Clovis, California, and graduated from the University La Verne with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. As an undergraduate, Randall was a four-year member of the track and field program, three times earning the conference championship in the shot put and the hammer while also being recognized as the 2018 Field Athlete of the Year. He was also a four-time All-West Region selection in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
