• Desmond Jackson joined the Houston Football program as a defensive graduate assistant in January of 2019 after one season as the defensive line coach at Lutheran High North in Houston.
• A native of Houston and graduate of Westfield High School, Jackson was a five-year defensive tackle at the University of Texas, playing in 52 career games with 21 starts. He finished his career with 122 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles for loss, 10 pressures, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Jackson was a 2015 honorable mention All-Big 12 selection and a 2015 second-team Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
