HOUSTON (Oct. 8) -- The University of Houston volleyball team coasted to a 3-0 sweep of Conference USA rival UAB Friday night in Hofheinz Pavilion. With a 15-4, 15-4, 15-3 league win the Cougars improved to a perfect 6-0 in C-USA action and extended the team's win streak to a season-best eight consecutive matches.
Houston junior middle blocker Michelle Frazier paced the Cougars with 10 kills, a .600 hitting percentage and four service aces. Junior hitter Bobbi Stewart added nine kills, a .500 percentage and 10 defensive digs as UH improved to 11-5 overall.
UAB was led by Denise Feer's 12 kills. The Blazers fell to 8-11 on the year and 1-5 in league play. Houston will next face C-USA rival Memphis on Sunday, October 10, in Hofheinz Pavilion. First serve with the Tigers will be at 2:00 p.m.
