HOUSTON, Texas (Feb. 6) -- The University of Houston women's tennis team continues to dominate by winning its third straight match of the spring season against Southwest Texas 9-0 on Sunday afternoon in Houston, Texas. The Lady Cougars now improve to a flawless 3-0 record on the season.
In doubles action, the Cougar duo of junior Joanna Cunliffe and freshman Jen Baccarani had an impressive showing shutting out the Bobcat's Sarah Tritt and Lindsay Stone 8-0 in number two doubles. Houston remains undefeated in doubles competition this spring season.
UH's Karine Urbin has been solid in her play this spring after recovering from an elbow injury that sidelined her for the fall season. She made short work of her opponent Sarah Convery defeating her 6-3, 6-3. Also for the Cougars, Galina Seliounina beat Southwest Texas' Andrea Giesick in number one singles, 6-1, 6-2, respectively.
The Cougars are back in action February 11 when they host TCU at 2:00p.m. at the UH Varsity Courts.
