HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Houston women's tennis team dropped its first dual match of the season against LSU, 7-2, on Thursday afternoon at the UH Varsity Tennis Courts.
Houston (2-1) won just two matches, as senior Luciane Kelbert defeated Fernanda Tsucamoto, 6-2, 6-1 in number three singles and sophomore Joanna Cunliffe upended Tami Botts, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 in number four singles.
The Cougars' top two seeds, sophomore Sarah Borwell and junior Galina Seliounina each lost their respective singles match in three sets.
UH will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. against TCU in Fort Worth.
