OVERVIEW
One of returning starters on Houston's roster, Bryan Shelton is a versatile player who will see action at all three perimeter positions...received the Houston Alumni Organization's Scholar-Athlete award and was a CoSIDA Verizon Academic All-District VI nominee...member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in both 2001-02 and 2002-03...earned the UH team's academic MVP and a member of the Cougars' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during each of the last two years.
2002-03 (AS A SOPHOMORE)
Was Houston's starting point guard during the final five games of the season...made 25 starts overall and played in all 28 games...averaged 4.8 points and 1.5 assists per game...scored a season-high 10 points at Washington...tallied nine points against DePaul and UAB...netted eight points versus Prairie View A&M, Baylor, LSU, Saint Louis and Tulane...led the Cougars in free throw percentage, having made 10 of his 11 attempts this season for a .909 percent-age...made both of his attempts against Tulane, DePaul, Southern Miss and Prairie View A&M...handed out a career-high six assists against TCU ...dished out four assists against Tulane in the C-USA Tournament and three assists versus TCU, Memphis, Texas-Arlington and Baylor...grabbed a season-high four rebounds against DePaul, UAB, Washington and UTEP...recorded a career-high four steals against Tulane in the C-USA Tournament.
2001-02 (AS A FRESHMAN)
Was the top three-point shooter on Houston's roster with a .467 (28-60) percentage...started three of Houston's last six games...scored a career-high 15 points and equaled his career high of three rebounds in his first career start at South Florida...netted nine points against Memphis in the Conference USA Tournament...tallied eight points versus North Texas, UAB and 10th-ranked Marquette in the semifinals of the Conference USA Tourna-ment....scored six points against fourth-ranked UCLA and San Diego State... handed out a career-high three assists and three rebounds against UAB... grabbed three rebounds at East Carolina and against Southern Miss... registered two assists against Chaminade, North Texas and Tennessee State...had a career-high two steals versus TCU, Tennessee State and North Texas...recorded a career-high two blocked shots against then 10th-ranked Cincinnati...also blocked one shot versus TCU and Southern Miss.

Major at UH is Construction Management Technology...born July 13, 1983 in Clear Lake, Texas...son of Darriel and Edith Shelton...older brother, Wayne Edwards, set a school record with 77 three-point field goals at Nichols State in 1996-97...chose Houston over Rice, TCU, Louisiana-Lafayette, Southern Miss and Oregon...hobbies are listening to music, and playing video games and dominoes.
