Brandon Maddux joined the University of Houston Department of Athletics in July 2010 as business manager. He was elevated to his current position of assistant athletics director for business operations in May 2017.
In that role, Maddux assists in the day-to-day operations of the Business and Finance unit, which works with all 17 Houston sport programs.
Maddux first joined the Athletics Department as a Ticket Sales account executive and went on to work in Ticket Operations before moving permanently into the Business Office.
Maddux, who is a native of Waco, Texas, graduated cum laude from Trinity University in 2008, receiving his bachelor's degree in business administration-marketing with a minor in physical education.
There, he played football for the Tigers and was involved in one of the craziest plays in college football history against Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Millsaps on Oct. 27, 2007.
Maddux, wearing No. 25 in the video below, handled the football several times on the 15-lateral play, and was the last Tiger to touch the ball before the winning score.
The play, which at 62 seconds may have been the longest play in NCAA Football history, was named the Pontiac Game-Changing Performance of the Year in January 2008.
Maddux also served on Trinity's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
After receiving his bachelor's degree, Maddux attended the University of North Carolina, where he received his master's degree in sport administration in 2010.
Maddux and his wife, Kristin, have a daughter Madeline.
