Karma Meck joined the University of Houston Department of Athletics in November 2013 as financial aid coordinator.
In that role, she coordinates academic and athletic scholarship programs for nearly 400 Houston student-athletes. In addition, she works with Houston Athletics Compliance officials to ensure student financial aid meets NCAA regulations and regularly advises students and parents on scholarship opportunities, application processes and rules.
Before joining Houston, Meck served as director of religious education for Thoreau UU Congregation in Stafford, Texas, from 2003 to 2005 and was a regional sales manager for Citibank Student Loan Business in Rochester, N.Y, from 1991 to 1993.
Meck also previously worked as a financial aid counselor at the University of Tennessee at Memphis and as a student aid counselor at the University of Memphis.
Meck graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in psychology from Albright College in 1981. She added a master's degree in college counseling and student personnel administration from Delaware in 1983.
She and her husband, Rob, have two daughters, Kaelin and Kelsey.
