Alexandra Slimp joined the University of Houston Athletics Department in October 2015 as a program coordinator in the Academic Center for Excellence.
In that role, she directs tutoring and learning services for nearly 400 Houston student-athletes in 17 sport programs. Slimp, who is a native of Winters, Texas, leads a team of 20 tutors and five learning specialists in providing test review sessions, workshops and other learning resources.
Before joining the Cougars, Slimp was a Reads and Counts Tutor for Mary Branch Elementary School in College Station, Texas.
Slimp, who prefers to go by Zannie, received her bachelor's degree in art history with a minor in human resources from Texas A&M in 2014. She received a graduate certificate in non-profit management from Bush School of Government and Public Service in College Station, Texas in 2015.
