The home of Houston Cougar Tennis underwent widespread upgrades of the overall facility beginning in 2016. At the start of the 2017 spring season, the Cougar officially opened the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
The courts have been resurfaced by Patriot Court Systems and sport the U.S. Open, two-toned look. Each of the six courts have been outfitted with new nets and supports. Customized umpire chairs and court benches complete the on-court experience.
All fencing and spectator netting has been replaced with vinyl wrapped chain-link, courtesy of Advantage Fencing, and new, graphically-enhanced windscreens have been manufactured and installed by Aer-Flo.
To enhance the fan experience, seating will now be available in two bleacher sections placed on-court. Scoreboards from Spectrum have been installed at each of the six courts to track up-to-the-minute progress for individual matches, with a central scoreboard to track team points in dual match competitions. A permanent sound system will complete the renewal project for the facility.
The overall project received services from Tennis Planning Consultants on the scope of the work.
