FRESHMAN 2011-12
Set the school record in the 200-back (2:01.34) to win the consolation finals at the Conference USA Championships (Feb. 18) ... Took first in the consolation finals at the Conference USA Championships in the 100 fly in the eight-fastest time in school history (56.00) ... Notched the third-fastest time in the Houston record books in the 100 back (56.47) at the Phill Hansel Invite (Nov. 18) to win the consolation finals.
HIGH SCHOOL
A two-time state champion in the 100-yard backstroke, a 100-yard butterfly state champion and a five-time All-American at Bishop Kenny High School...Helped her team to a District Championship as a senior...Under head coach Kelly Long, Coutts set All-American time standards in the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard butterfly at the 2010 2A State Finals in early November of her senior year...Swimming for the final time as a high school senior, Coutts pushed her team to a state runner-up finish after claiming the 100-yard backstroke title and second-place in the 100-yard butterfly.
As a junior, Coutts earned 2A State Champion honors in the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard butterfly...She was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay state championship team...The Junior National and National qualifier was also a four-time team MVP...Four-year member of the First Coast Swim Team...Two-time member of the Zone Team.
Coutts[apos] best times include: 57.29 (100-yard backstroke), 56.02 (100-yard butterfly), 2:05.27 (200-yard backstroke), 24.71 (50-yard freestyle) and 53.36 (100-yard freestyle).
PERSONAL
Heather is the daughter of Karin and Edmund Coutts...Born November 9, 1992 in Edinburg, Scotland...A member of the Bolles School Sharks club team under coach Sergio Lopez...When she[apos]s not swimming, Coutts enjoys Manga and drawing...Was a member of the Latin and Art Clubs and also played Powder Puff football...Plans to major in Biology.
