
Maurina, McCoy Qualify to Quarterfinals at NCAA West First Round

Cougars earn spots in 100-meter hurdles and 800-meter
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Freshman Invida Maurina and junior Kaycee McCoy advanced to quarterfinals in their respective events at the NCAA Track & Field West First Round inside E.B. Cushing Stadium on Thursday.
The women's squad will compete in the 100-meter hurdles, 800-meter and 4x100-meter relay on Saturday.
McCoy advanced to the 100-meter hurdles quarterfinal with a time of 13.38, earning the final qualifying spot after a tense wait through the last heat.
Maurina secured her spot in the 800-meter quarterfinal as she finished third in her heat at 2:03.88. The freshman moved up to third on Houston's all-time performance list.
Evina Panagiotou concluded her freshman season with a 30th-place finish in the women's pole vault at 4.17m.
Junior Ali Mack closed out the 2025 campaign in the 100-meter hurdles at 13.48 for 33rd place.
Junior Zaeda Houff wrapped up action the women's hammer throw in 29th place with a mark of 57.57m.
