Houston moves third 2025 game to Friday night
HOUSTON – Houston Football and Oregon State, in coordination with the Pac-12 Conference and network partners, announced that the Cougars-Beavers non-conference game this upcoming season will be played on Friday, Sept. 26 at 9:30 p.m. CT on ESPN in Corvallis, Ore.
The move shifts a third game to Friday night with Houston now set to play four weekday regular season games for the first time since 2016.
In March, the Cougars announced that two Big 12 Conference games had moved to Friday night. Houston's second Friday night game of the season will be on Sept. 12 when the Cougars host Colorado inside Houston's stadium. Houston will travel to UCF to play the Knights inside FBC Mortgage Stadium on Nov. 7 for its third Friday night game of the year before.
The Cougars enter Year 2 of the Willie Fritz era on Thursday, Aug. 28 hosting Stephen F. Austin inside the Cougars' home stadium before facing Colorado on Sept. 12, going west to play Oregon State on Sept. 26 and traveling to UCF on Nov. 7.
Kick times and network designations for the Colorado and UCF games will be announced at a later date.
The Cougars are 7-3 in Friday night games dating back to 2021 with Houston beating TCU on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, 30-19, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Houston is 2-1 against Oregon State with this season's meeting marking the first matchup since 1970 and the first meeting in Corvallis.
