Houston, Big 12 Announce Select Game Times, Networks

Season opener set for 6 p.m. as part of five evening kickoffs on tap
HOUSTON – University of Houston Football will kick off its 2024 season at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, inside TDECU Stadium as part of a nationally-televised contest set to air on FS1, the Big 12 Conference announced along with its television partners ESPN and FOX Sports on Thursday.
All five of Houston's announced network designations will serve as evening kickoffs across four networks including ESPN, FS1, SEC Network and Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
Houston's road opener, set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at Oklahoma, will kick off at 6:45 p.m. CT and air on SEC Network. One week later, the Cougars return home for the 46th all-time matchup against Rice and 43rd to decide possession of the Bayou Bucket with kickoff at 7 p.m. on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
Houston will take part in a pair of Friday night conference road matchups with the Cougars' Oct. 4 tilt at TCU set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN. The Cougars will face Arizona for the first time as co-league members on Friday, Nov. 15, in Tucson, Ariz., at 9:15 p.m. CT on FS1.
The remainder of Houston's selections will be announced on a 12-day or six-day notice. Big 12 television partners can exercise four six-day selections. Houston's remaining schedule includes home matchups against Iowa State (Sept. 28), Utah (Oct. 26), Kansas State (Nov. 2) and Baylor (Nov. 23) inside TDECU Stadium alongside visits to Cincinnati (Sept. 21), Kansas (Arrowhead Stadium; Kansas City, Mo.; Oct. 19) and BYU (Nov. 30).
