Women’s Golf Ready to Learn NCAA Postseason Destination

NCAA Selection Show to air at 1 p.m., Wednesday, on Golf Channel
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Golf program will learn its postseason destination during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, airing at 1 p.m., Wednesday, on Golf Channel.
Seventy-two (72) teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will be selected to compete at the NCAA Regionals to be held at one of six sites across the country on May 6-8.
Those NCAA Regional sites include Auburn University Club (Auburn, Ala., hosted by Auburn); Tumble Creek Club (Cle Elum, Wash., hosted by Washington); Traditions Club (Bryan-College Station, Texas., hosted by Texas A&M); Forest Akers Golf Course (East Lansing, Mich., hosted by Michigan State); Spanish Trail Country Club (Las Vegas, Nev., hosted by UNLV) and East Course – Bermuda Run Country Club (Winston-Salem, N.C., hosted by Wake Forest).
The top five teams and top individual not on an advancing team at each NCAA Regional site advance to the NCAA Championships set for May 17-22 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
The Cougars enter NCAA Regional play after finishing sixth at their first Big 12 Championships at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas, last weekend.

NCAA REGIONALS HISTORY
Houston has been represented in eight straight NCAA Regionals dating back to the 2015 season with team appearances in seven of the last eight years.
A year ago, the Cougars competed as the No. 7 seed at the NCAA Pullman Regional and finished eighth at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash., on May 8-10, 2023.
Abelar, Saldana, Svedenskiold and sophomore Natalie Saint Germain return to the Cougars from that postseason squad.
Two Cougar All-Americans have earned three berths into the NCAA Championships as individuals during the program's history.
Leonie Harm qualified for the 2018 and 2016 NCAA Championships while Karen Fredgaard earned the most recent invitation in 2021, tying for 28th for the highest individual finish at the nation's top collegiate event.
