Cougars Ink Pair of Non-Conference Game Agreements

Houston hosts Stephen F. Austin in 2025, Prairie View in ’27 from TDECU Stadium
HOUSTON – University of Houston Football will host Stephen F. Austin in its 2025 season opener inside TDECU Stadium and welcome Prairie View to TDECU Stadium in 2027, Houston Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Eddie Nuñez announced Thursday.
The Cougars face SFA on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, in the fourth all-time matchup between the schools and first since the 1948 season. The game agreement closes Houston's 2025 non-conference schedule. The Cougars visit Rice on Sept. 6 and head to Corvallis, Ore., to face Oregon State on Sept. 27.
Houston hosts Prairie View inside TDECU Stadium on Sept. 11, 2027. The Cougars defeated Prairie View in the lone prior matchup between the programs during the 2019 season. Houston will not leave the Bayou City during its three non-conference matchups in 2027. The Cougars take on LSU in the Texas Kickoff from NRG Stadium during Labor Day weekend and host Georgia Southern on Sept. 18.
