Meyer, Seagreaves lead Cougars to 46th running of Rice Invitational
HOUSTON – The University of Houston cross country will make the perilous trek across down US-59 to Rice on Friday for the 46th installment of the Rice Invitational.

Women's 4k: 6:20 p.m. CT
Men's 4 mile: 6:50 p.m. CT

"It's always exciting to go to the Rice Invitational," cross country head coach Ray Stanfield said. "The 46th year of the meet, and the school where I started my college coaching career 40 years ago. It's a very good early season field on both men's and women's side. I am anxious to see the kids compete again."
Coming off the program's third American Athletic Conference Female Athlete of the Week honor, senior Claire Meyer will look to lead the women for the second straight meet. In the rust busting meet at McNeese's Season Opener meet, Meyer ran 3k in 10 minutes 3.3 seconds, finishing third overall. Meyer will lead the women along Rice's 4k course.
On the men's side, senior Brandon Seagreaves enters the meet after finishing second overall in the 6k race at McNeese.
Freshmen Aidan Killian and Miles Cox made their collegiate debuts at McNeese's Season Opener meet and will run in their first 4-mile race of their collegiate careers at Rice.
