
Reily Finishes 11th to Lead Cougars at Jim Rivers Intercollegiate

Cougars move to fifth with score of 2-under 286 in Tuesday’s Final Round
CHOUDRANT, La. – For the second time in three days, University of Houston senior Austyn Reily fired a 68 to lead the Cougars and finish 11th in the Final Round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate at Squire Creek Country Club.
Reily enjoyed a bogey-free day on the 7,105-yard, par-72 course. Starting his day off No. 1, the Pottsboro, Texas, native quickly moved into red numbers with a birdie on the 528-yard, par-5 second hole. Following six straight pars, Reily closed his first nine with another birdie on No. 9.
He added additional birdies on No. 11 and No. 17 on the way to the fifth Top-20 finish of his career.
Playing as an individual, junior Santiago De La Fuente joined Reily under par with a 3-under 69 and tied for 12th at 6-under 210.
A transfer from Arkansas Tech, De La Fuente moved under par with a birdie on the par-3 12th hole but endured a double-bogey 6 on No. 14. However, the Mexico City native quickly returned to even par with birdie on No. 15 and started his second nine with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 1-2.
Super senior Braxton Watkins enjoyed his low round of the tournament with a 1-under 71, thanks to four birdies, and tied for 66th at 219. Making his Houston debut after transferring from Kansas, sophomore Wolfgang Glawe also fired a 71 Tuesday and tied for 52nd at 217.
Senior Marcus Wochner tied for 60th at 218 while redshirt freshman Ruben Lindsay – making his Houston debut after transferring from Auburn – tied for 44th at 216.
Southern Miss captured the team title with a score of 836 to finish one shot ahead of Middle Tennessee. ULM (839) and LSU (840) rounded out the Top Four with Louisiana Tech (855), UTSA (857), Troy (858), SMU (860) and South Alabama (860) completing the Top 10.
Southern Miss' Thongpipat Rattanayanon earned medalist honors with a score of 205 to edge Middle Tennessee's Owen Stamper by a stroke. LSU's Drew Doyle and Garrett Barber, ULM's Otto Van Buynder and Kevin Jegers of Middle Tennessee tied for third at 207.

Following the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, the Cougars continue their fall slate when they tee off at the Trinity Forest Invitational on Oct. 2-4 at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.
From there, the team closes out its fall schedule when it competes at The Williams Cup on Oct. 23-25 at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C.
