Men’s Golf Releases 2022-23 Schedule

Fall slate begins Sept. 11-13 at Jim Rivers Intercollegiate in Louisiana
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men's Golf program will compete in nine regular-season tournaments during the 2022-23 season , Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke announced Wednesday.
The season begins in mid-September with the first of three fall tournament with the spring season starting Feb. 13-14, 2023.
Entering his 14th season with the Cougars, Dismuke leads a team, which Cougars finished third at the American Athletic Conference Championships and advanced to NCAA Regional play for the second straight season a year ago.
Senior Marcus Wochner was an All-American Athletic Conference and American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team member are finishing second at The American Championships for the second straight season. The Holte, Denmark, native is the Cougars' leading returnee with a 72.91 scoring average and 15 rounds of par or better.
Super-senior Braxton Watkins joined Wochner on both postseason squads in 2022 and finished with a 72.97 average and added 15 rounds of par or better.
Senior Austyn Reily was another All-Conference star after tying for fifth at The American Championship at 7-under 209 with a 67 in the Second Round of that tournament. Sophomore Jacob Borow was named the league's Freshman of the Year, becoming the first Cougar to earn that honor since 2001.

FALL SEASON
Houston opens the 2022-23 season when it tees off at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, La.
From there, the Cougars compete at the Trinity Forest Invitational at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas (Oct. 2-4) before closing the month and the fall slate at The Williams Cup at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C. (Oct. 23-25).

SPRING SEASON
Following a break, the Cougars open the spring season when they play host to the Border Olympics at Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas on Feb. 13-14. Houston welcomes Baylor, Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, Houston Baptist, Illinois State, Lamar, Lipscomb, Louisiana Tech, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, New Mexico State, Rice, Sam Houston State, ULM, UTSA, Western Carolina and Wright State in the 18-team field.
From there, the Cougars close the month of February when they tee off at the Rice Intercollegiate at Westwood Golf Club in Houston on Feb. 20-.
The Cougars open March at the Cabo Collegiate on the Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on March 5-7.
Houston hosts two straight tournaments, starting with the All-American Intercollegiate at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas, on March 20-21.
The Cougars then host one of the nation's premier amateur events with the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla., on March 27-28. The fields for both of those tournaments
Houston closes out the regular season when it tees off at the Aggie Invitational at Traditions Club in Bryan-College Station, Texas, on April 10-11.
POSTSEASON
The postseason begins with the American Athletic Conference Championships, set for April 21-23 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla. It will be the first time the league's annual postseason event will be played at that venue.
The winner of The American Championships receives the league's automatic bid to NCAA Regional play.
NCAA Regionals will be held at six sites across the nation on May 15-17. Those venues include: Auburn University Club (Auburn, Ala.); Eagle Eye Golf Club (Bath, Mich.); Bear's Best Las Vegas (Las Vegas); The Institute Golf Club (Morgan Hill, Calif.); Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club (Norman, Okla.) and The Cliffs at Keowee Falls (Salem, S.C.)
The 2023 NCAA Championships will be held at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., on May 26-31.
