Junior wideout among four from American on coveted list
HOUSTON – University of Houston Football junior wide receiver Nathaniel Dell has been named to the 2022 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List, honoring college football's top FBS receiver, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation announced Thursday.
Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football's outstanding receiver, not merely college football's outstanding wide receiver.
Dell had a breakout sophomore season, registering career highs while hauling in 90 passes for 1,329 yards and 12 touchdowns. The All-American Athletic Conference First Team honoree ranked eighth nationally in 2021 in receiving touchdowns.
Forty-three student-athletes were named to the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List. Dell is one of six receivers from the state of Texas on the list and one of four representatives from The American.
The semifinalists, finalists, and award recipient are selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 640 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, Biletnikoff Award winners, and other former receivers.
