Cornerback taken by Ravens in fourth round
LAS VEGAS – University of Houston cornerback Damarion Williams was selected on the final day of the NFL Draft on Saturday as the Cougars finished the three-day, seven-round event with three total selections for a second consecutive year.
Williams was taken with the 36th pick of the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens as the 141st overall selection. The Miami native is the second Cougar all-time to be selected by Baltimore, joining Tyus Bowser (2nd round, 2017).
With the pick, Houston has seen 14 defensive players selected since 2016. Multiple Cougars were drafted for the fifth time in the last seven years.
Houston defensive lineman Logan Hall and cornerback Marcus Jones were selected on the second day of the 2022 NFL Draft on Friday. Hall was taken with the first pick of the second round by Tampa Bay (33rd overall). Jones was drafted in the third round as the 85th overall selection by New England.
Houston has been represented in the NFL Draft seven straight years, the second-longest active streak in The American Athletic Conference. The seven-straight years with at least one NFL Draft pick marks the program's longest stretch since 1988-94.
