Sampy breaks pole vault school record at Texas Relays

AUSTIN – Sophomore Christyan Sampy broke the Houston school record in the pole vault on Thursday afternoon on the first day of the Texas Relays.
His 5.55m jump in the men's pole vault landed him first place in the competition as well as the No. 1 mark in the nation.
Quivell Jordan represented Houston in the men's 400m hurdles finishing first in his heat and third overall to qualify for the finals on Friday. Priscilla Adejokun also competed on the first day in the women's hammer throw securing a 52.72m for 14th place.

The Cougars continue with the second day of the Texas Relays while half of the team will participate in the Victor Lopez Classic at Rice University on Thursday.
