
Rios-Brache Leads Men’s Golf at Houston Classic

Final Round tees off Tuesday morning at Golf Club of Houston
HUMBLE, Texas – Playing as individuals, University of Houston sophomore Julio Rios-Brache, junior Drew Murdock and sophomore Jacob Borow stood among the Top-20 leaders following the first two rounds of the Houston Classic on Monday afternoon.
Playing on the 6,945-yard, par-72 course at Golf Club of Houston, Rios-Brache was tied for sixth at 146 after shooting 72 in Monday's afternoon session.
Murdock was tied for 12th at 149, while Borow was tied for 10th at 151. Sophomore Hanseung Chang was tied for 75th at 166.
The Houston Classic was a recent addition to the Cougars' schedule.
Central Oklahoma's Evan Griffith held the individual lead at 5-under 139 after opening with a 66. Arkansas Tech teammates Santiago De La Fuente and Andrew Jacobs stood in second and third and 140 and 142, respectively.
UP NEXT
Following the Houston Classic, the Cougars open their spring season as a team on Feb. 14-15 at Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas.
From there, Houston will compete at the Cabo Collegiate, slated for Feb. 27-March 1 TPC San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas, before hosting its own All-American Intercollegiate on March 21-22 at Golf Club of Houston.
