Houston junior recognized among 12 players for top FBS receiver award
HOUSTON – University of Houston junior Nathaniel Dell has been named one of 12 semifinalists for the 2022 Biletnikoff Award, which recognizes college football's most outstanding FBS receiver, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc., announced Monday.
Dell ranks second nationally in receiving touchdowns (14) and receiving yards (1,193). The wide receiver is third in receptions per game (8.5). The Daytona Beach, Fla., native leads the country with 29 touchdown receptions since the start of the 2020 season.
Dell is one of three Texas FBS players on the list, joining TCU's Quentin Johnston and SMU's Rashee Rice. The three-year letterwinner and team captain ranks fourth in Houston single-season history in touchdown receptions (14). He is two receptions shy of moving into the top 10 in the category for single-season history and 29 receiving yards away from 10th.
Fans may vote for Dell once daily on the Biletnikoff Award FanVote page. Fans can vote through Saturday. The award's three finalists will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
