Women’s Golf Tied for Fifth after Battle at the Beach Second Round

Natalie Saint Germain, Moa Svedenskiold among Top-10 leaders entering Sunday’s Final Round
SAN JOSE del CABO, BCS, Mexico – University of Houston freshmen Natalie Saint Germain and Moa Svedenskiold continued to stand among the Top-10 leaders following the Second Round of the Battle at the Beach at Club Campestre San Jose on Saturday afternoon.
Svedenskiold led the Cougars with a 71 on the 6,250-yard, par-71 course and rose into a tie for eighth at 2-under 139. Saint Germain posted a 72 in the Second Round and was tied for fifth at 139.
As a team, the Cougars posted a score of 289 Saturday and were tied for fifth with Baylor at 575. TCU held the team lead at 559 to finish the Second Round five strokes ahead of LSU. Mississippi (566) and Vanderbilt (572) rounded out the Top Four leaders with Mississippi State (576), Arkansas (578) Clemson (578) and North Texas (583) completing the Top 10.
Junior Nicole Abelar was tied for 38th at 147 while freshman Alexa Saldana was tied for 57th at 150. Junior Delaney Martin was tied for 68th at 152.
On the individual leaderboard, LSU's Ingrid Lindblad held the top spot at 11-under 131. TCU's Lois Lau finished second at 133, while TCU's Caitlyn Macnab and Mississippi's Andrea Lignell were tied for third at 135. Sky Sload (Missouri) and Audrey Tan (North Texas) were tied for sixth at 139.
The tournament wraps up with the Final Round teeing off at 8 a.m. (CDT) Sunday.
