Houston Women Earn Highest Finish in 4x100-Meter Relay Since 2012

Houston scores at meet for first time since 2012
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field women concluded the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with its most points at the meet since 2012 and a seventh-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay.

Using its second combination of sprinters in the 4x100-meter in two outings, the Houston Women still managed to make history scoring the Cougars first points at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships since 2012. UH advanced behind a combined time of 43.57 from Camille Rutherford, Brianne Bethel, Samiyah Samuels and Tristan Evelyn in the semifinals. The Cougars earned a seventh-place finish in the Final with a time of 44.29 after a little shuffling and the addition of Naomi Taylor. The Cougars finished out the meet with First Team All-America honors and its highest finish in the 4x100 since the 2012 Championships.
