McCadam Promoted to Director of Olympic Sports Performance

HOUSTON – Kevin McCadam has been promoted to Director of Olympic Sports Performance, University of Houston Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman announced on Wednesday.
McCadam, who arrived at UH in February 2019, has spent the last two years as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance, where he has primarily worked with the Houston Football program.
In his new role, McCadam will have oversight of sports performance for UH's Olympic sports while maintaining his day-to-day role in training student-athletes for UH Football.
"Thank you to Chris Pezman and DeJuena Chizer for giving me the opportunity to lead our Olympic Sports Performance staff here at UH," McCadam said. "I'm excited to get to work alongside and learn from all of our sports performance coaches and their respective programs. Our mission as a department is to serve our student-athletes, driving the needle of mental and physical development both on and off the field of competition. Go Coogs!"
Prior to Houston, McCadam spent six seasons at West Virginia as the assistant director of strength and conditioning/speed development. He arrived in Morgantown in 2010 after a stint at Virginia Tech as a graduate assistant, following a successful five-year NFL career.
While at Virginia Tech from 2008-10, McCadam worked with the Hokie Football team, as well as the men's and women's basketball teams.
From 2002-05, he was a safety for the Atlanta Falcons and finished his career in 2006 with the Carolina Panthers.
He was a two-year member of the Virginia Tech football team from 2000-01, playing in 20 games and finishing his college career with 111 tackles. He earned his bachelor's degree in history from Virginia Tech, in 2001, and his master's degree in education in 2009, also from Virginia Tech.
McCadam and his wife, Jess, have four children, Mia, Kole, Mason and Kam.
