Game remains on Friday, Oct. 16 and will kick off at 8:30 p.m. CT
HOUSTON – Houston football's previously scheduled road game at BYU has been moved to TDECU Stadium. Both programs verbally agreed to the move on Friday.
The game will remain on Friday, Oct. 16, with kickoff set for 8:30 p.m. CT from Houston. The matchup will air on ESPN2.
After consulting with local medical professionals and team doctors regarding travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, UH approached BYU to move the game to TDECU Stadium for the 2020 season.
With this season's matchup previously set to take place in Provo at LaVell Edwards Stadium, UH will now travel to BYU to complete the two-game agreement between both schools at a date to be determined.
"We appreciate the cooperation of BYU Athletics Director Tom Holmoe to move this game to Houston for the 2020 season," Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman said. "We are excited to add this home game to our schedule this season and look forward to traveling to Provo to continue our series with BYU in the future."
With its revised schedule, Houston will play six scheduled games inside TDECU Stadium this season and open its home slate on Sept. 26 against North Texas. UH will also continue discussions regarding the potential rescheduling of the previously postponed game versus Rice, with the hopes of still playing the Owls during the 2020 season.
SINGLE-GAME TICKETS/COACH YEOMAN MINI-PLANS
A limited number of single-game tickets and mini-plans are available for Houston home football games this season. Advanced single-game tickets begin at just $30.
In honor of coaching legend Bill Yeoman, UH Athletics is offering a three-game "Triple Option" mini-plan package (pick any three games) beginning at $90 and a two-game "Veer" mini-plan package starting at only $65 (pick any two games).
Mini-plan packages can be purchased online at UHCougars.com/tickets or by calling the UH Athletics Ticket Office at 713-GO-COOGS (462-6647).
