Brown Named Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year

HOUSTON – University of Houston senior, Zarena Brown was named the Women's Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year by The American Athletic Conference on Wednesday morning.

The honor is awarded to student-athletes who maintain above average academic credentials and outstanding athletic performance in their respective sport.

Brown just concluded her senior season on the Houston Swimming & Diving team where she helped the Cougars captured their fourth consecutive conference title, won two individual conference titles and was named The American Co-Swimmer of the Year. Before the season was cut short, Brown qualified for the 2020 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.

This marks the second time a member of the Houston Swimming & Diving team has earned the honor since joining The American.
