Special measures continue to be in effect due to water outag
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Athletics Department will continue to make special accommodations for fans attending events on campus this weekend.
Due to a water main break in the City of Houston on Thursday, UH will place portable sanitary facilities outside of Fertitta Center for Saturday's women's basketball game against UConn and Sunday's men's basketball contest versus Cincinnati.
Those facilities will be placed outside the student entrance on Cullen Boulevard for both games and available for fans to use, if needed.
Fans will be allowed to enter Fertitta Center with one, clear bottle of water if they so choose to do so. Bottles of water must be sealed and no larger than 32 ounces.
Delaware North, Houston's official food and beverage provider, is taking steps to have extra bottled water and bottled soda for sale at concession stands inside Fertitta Center for both basketball games.
Portable sanitary facilities will also continue to remain in place for Houston baseball's series against Texas State. A limited selection of concession items will be available for sale at Sanders Field at Schroeder Park during the weekend.
UH officials will continue to work with City of Houston officials to monitor the water outage.
