King Named to CFPA Performer of the Year Watch List

Quarterback picks up fourth preseason honor entering 2019
HOUSTON -- University of Houston Football senior quarterback D'Eriq King has been named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) National Performer of the Year Trophy Watch List, the CFPA announced Wednesday.
King is one of 34 players on the list, as the preseason nod is his fourth of the season. The native of Manvel, Texas, was tabbed to the Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List on July 15, Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List on July 16 and the Walter Camp Football Foundation 2019 Player of Year Preseason Watch List on July 26.
All FBS players are eligible for the award. The award winner will be announced January 15, 2020.

• Became one of only three quarterbacks in Football Bowl Subdivision history with 35 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing touchdowns in a single season
