Lewis, alongside Matthew Boling, Matthew Moorer and Justin Robinson set a new age group world record in the 4x400-meter relay at the 2019 Pan-American U20 Championships after clocking a blazing fast 2:59.30. The rising Cougar sophomore ran a 45.30 split to lead off the race for Team USA, a personal best for the Houston sprinter.
The time is the second fastest in the world this season behind the 2019 NCAA Championships winning time of 2:59.05. Houston sprinters now are members of both the second and fourth fastest 4x400-meter relay squads this season.
After a stellar performance at the USATF U20 Championships, Lewis qualified for the Pan-American Championships as member of the 4x400-meter relay. Lewis finished third in the 400-meter dash at the USATF U20 Championships with a then-lifetime best 46.66 for third-place in the event.
