Igbokwe Named American Athlete of the Week

Senior sprinter claims honor for the second time this season
HOUSTON - Houston senior sprinter Obi Igbokwe earned The American Athletic Conference's Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Tuesday.Â
Igbokwe ran a world's best 400-meter dash at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational, clocking a winning time of 45.35.
With that being said, he also locked in the second-fastest time in UH history.
With Igbokwe's help, the 4x400-meter relay team clocked in the second-fastest time in American history and the fourth-fastest in world history with a time of 3:01.51.
Igbokwe's honor is Houston's ninth in the first six weeks of the season
