Cougar junior earns first weekly honor of career
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly cross country award winners, selecting junior Jemal Wote as the runner of the week.
Wote helped the Cougar men earn its first team title of the 2019 season, as both the men's and women's team swept the Lake Charles Toyota Stampede for its first team sweep since 2015. The junior posted the highest team finish on the men's side after clocking a time of 20:07.4 for fourth-place in the four-mile race.
Wote's time was a mere two seconds shy of his collegiate best in the four-mile that he ran at the Rice Invitational.
