
Houston Announces 2018 Schedule

Cougars open season Aug. 31, in College Station, Texas
HOUSTON – The Houston Cougar Men's and Women's Cross Country program and Head Coach Steve Magness announced the 2018 competition schedule, Monday.
The 2018 season kicks off with Houston's first of three meets in College Station, Texas, when they compete in the Aggie Opener on Friday, Aug. 31. The following week, the Cougars will return to Houston and head across town to compete in the annual Rice Invitational on Friday, Sept. 7. Rising senior G. J. Reyna will look to defend his crown at Rice, after winning the 2017 competition in 19:49.72.
Two weeks later, the Cougars will head back to College Station to compete in the Texas A&M Invitational at Watts Cross Country Course on Saturday, Sept. 22, before wrapping the regular season with a trip west to compete in the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13, in San Jose, Calif.
Postseason competition begins at The American Cross Country Championships, with the 2018 edition being held on Thursday, Oct. 25, in New Orleans. The 2018 NCAA South Central Regional will be held two weeks later on Friday, Nov. 9, in College Station, while the NCAA Championships will run on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Madison, Wis.
