The reigning Outland Trophy winner, Oliver was a consensus All-American in his sophomore season and has totaled 39.5 tackles for loss through his freshman and sophomore seasons, a number that leads all defensive tackles in NCAA history and ranks second among all positions in that time frame.
He leads all active players nationally with a career average of 1.56 tackles for loss per game and is Houston's leading returning tackler after totaling 73 stops in 2017. The Houston native has 139 tackles through two years while playing the nose spot in a three-man front. His 73 tackles last season came in 12 games despite missing three quarters of one game and being limited in the next four with a knee injury.
This marks the second straight year for Oliver to be named to the Watch List and the third straight year for a Houston student-athlete to be named to the watch list as Cameron Malveaux, now a member of the Miami Dolphins, earned the distinction in 2016.
