Against Rice, starter Ryan Randel tossed a career-long six and two-third innings, surrendering just two runs on three hits while striking out seven … Offensively, Houston tallied 11 hits, as seven different Cougars scored to clinch the series, 2-1 … At Southeastern Louisiana, Houston won 6-3 before falling 5-4 in its regular-season finale … After clinching at least a share of the American Regular-Season Title, the Cougars became outright champions with ECU's loss on Thursday … At the conclusion of the regular season, junior Aaron Fletcher was named The American Pitcher of the Year and Head Coach Todd Whitting garnered Coach of the Year honors, as four Cougars were named to All-Conference teams announced Monday … Fletcher became the second-straight Houston pitcher to win the Pitcher of the Year honor, as current teammate Trey Cumbie was tabbed the league's top pitcher a year ago … Four Cougars were named to All-Conference teams, led by Fletcher, a unanimous First Team selection as a starting pitcher … Sophomore Lael Lockhart Jr. (UTL), junior Joe Davis (DH) and Cumbie (P) were all named to the American Second Team … Houston enters The American Championship at the top seed and faces No. 8 seed Tulane, Tuesday at 11 a.m. CT at Spectrum Field, Spring Training home of the Phillies, in Clearwater, Fla. … Due to inclement weather in Clearwater area, Tuesday's tournament schedule was moved up … For the The American Championship Central Page, click here.

Senior Michael Perras finished 24th at the NCAA Bryan Regional.

Perras, who was one of 10 individuals to compete at the NCAA Bryan Regional, finished with a three-day, 54-hole score of 2-over 218 on the 7,121-yard, par-72 course … This marked the third straight season in which Perras competed in NCAA Regional play … He became only the 17th player in program history to compete in 3+ NCAA Regionals during his career.
WOMEN'S GOLF

Junior Leonie Harm finished in a tie for 42nd at the NCAA Championships.

Harm, the 2018 American Athletic Conference Player of the Year, finished with a 7-over 223 on the 6,238-yard, par-72 course … She earned her place in the nation's premier collegiate event with a record-setting performance in the NCAA Austin Regional Final Round on May 9, clinching her spot with a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole in a playoff to earn the second position … Harm is the first Cougar to compete at multiple NCAA Championships after qualifying out of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional in 2016 … Houston Women's Golf joined Houston Women's Cross Country in earning the NCAA Public Recognition Award last week … The award honors programs with Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in the top 10 percent of their respective sports through the 2016-17 academic year.
SOFTBALL

Houston Softball went 1-2 at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional to close its season with a 37-22 overall record.

Tabbed the No. 3 seed, Houston shutout No. 2 seed Louisiana, 1-0, on Friday … On Saturday, the Cougars went toe-to-toe with host and No. 11 national seed LSU, dropping a pitcher's duel, 1-0, before closing their season with a 7-2 loss to the Ragin' Cajuns in the nightcap … The NCAA postseason appearance was the eighth for the Cougars in program history and first since 2014.
TRACK & FIELD

After sweeping The American Outdoor Championships, Houston Track & Field learned its regional qualifiers for the NCAA West Regionals, being held Thursday-Saturday in Sacramento, Calif. … Houston will send 26 student-athletes to compete in 32 events as well as each of the men's and women's 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay squads … Qualifying student-athletes look to finish among the top-12 in each respective event to qualify for the NCAA Championships in June … Alongside regional qualifiers, Houston learned that sophomore Nathaniel Mechler has booked his trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships after finishing the season with the sixth-best point total in the men's decathlon … Mechler scored 7,722 points at the Bryan Clay Invitational to earn an automatic-qualifying berth for ranking in the top-12 in the region … For a complete list of Houston's regional qualifiers, click here.
