Oliver leads all defensive linemen nationally with 46 tackles in only six games, topping the second-best total of 40 held by three players, who have seen action in seven games. The 46 tackles include 11.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. He also leads all Houston players with nine quarterback hurries while forcing one fumble and breaking up a pass.
The Houston native leads all active players nationally with a career average of 1.63 tackles for loss per game, owning 51 career tackles for loss in only 31 games. The 51 are just 15 shy from the Houston career record set by T.J. Turner from 1982-85.
The first underclassman to win the Outland Trophy after a 2017 season that also saw him earn The American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year honor, Oliver is in his final season of competition at Houston after declaring for the 2019 NFL Draft in March.
Named after Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Ronnie Lott, The Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded to college football's Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year. Founded in 2004 by The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, The Lott Trophy is the first and only college football award to equally recognize athletic performance and the personal character attributes of the player.
