Houston Releases 2018-19 Schedule

Cougars open indoor Dec. 8, outdoor March 14
HOUSTON – The Houston Cougar Men's and Women's Track & Field teams are excited to announce the 2018-19 competition schedule for the indoor and outdoor seasons.
INDOOR SEASON
Houston opens competition for the 2018-19 indoor season with its annual trip to compete in the Texas A&M Reveille Invitational on Dec. 8 in College Station, Texas. The Cougars will compete in Texas A&M's early meet for the 11th-straight season, dating back to 2008-09.
After a month-long break for the winter holidays, the Cougars return to action, hosting the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational, on Jan. 11, the first of three home meets inside Yeoman Fieldhouse. A select group of Houston student-athletes will also compete in the Texas Tech Corky Classic on Jan. 11 in Lubbock, Texas.
Houston will also host its annual Carl Lewis High School Invitational (Jan. 12) and Joe Deloach Youth Invitational (Jan. 13) on the second weekend of 2019.
The Cougars head back to Lubbock a week later to compete in the Red Raider Invite, hosted by Texas Tech, on Jan. 18 before returning home for the first two-day meet of the indoor season, the Houston Invitational, to be held across Jan. 25-26.
Houston opens the month of February with a return trip to College Station to compete in the two-day Aggie Invitational across Feb. 1-2 before wrapping the regular season by splitting its squad with half staying home for the Howie Ryan Invitational on Feb. 8, and the remaining student-athletes heading to the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational across Feb. 8-9 in Clemson, S.C.
The 2019 American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships will be held across Feb. 22-23 in Birmingham, Ala., while the Cougars return to the Birmingham Crossplex two weeks later for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 8-9.
OUTDOOR SEASON
The outdoor campaign starts in the middle of March when the Cougars host their first meet at Carl Lewis Complex, the Houston Spring Break Invitational. The Cougars will stay within the city limits for the second meet of the year, heading to Rice for the Victor Lopez Classic across March 22-23.
The 92nd running of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays concludes the month of March and serves as Houston's first outdoor trip outside the city of Houston. The 2019 version of the historic event will be held March 27-30 inside Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
The Cougars open competition in April with their second home meet of the season, the Houston Alumni Invitational, before heading to College Station for the first time in the outdoor circuit since 2004. Texas A&M's newly renovated E.B. Cushing Stadium will host the Texas A&M Invitational across April 12-13.
Houston will split its squad the following weekend with the majority of student-athletes heading out of state for the first time in the outdoor season when they compete in the historic Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance, Calif. After a two-year hiatus, the Relays return to the beautifully renovated Murdock Stadium from April 18-20.
The student-athletes not making the trip to California will compete at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight Invitational on April 20 at Rice.
The Cougars will again split up the squad the following weekend for the 125th running of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Penn. Student-athletes heading to Pennsylvania will compete across April 25-29 at historic Franklin Field. The remainder of Houston's student-athletes will return to College Station to run in the Texas A&M Alumni Muster on April 26-27.
The Cougars wrap the regular season a week later with their third home meet of the outdoor season, the Tom Tellez Invitational, on May 3. The Tellez Invite will serve as Houston's Senior Day.
The American Outdoor Championships will be held at Wichita State across May 9-12. The Shockers' Cessna Stadium will play host to the meet, where Houston will look to defend each of the men's and women's crowns from 2018.
NCAA competition begins with the NCAA West Regional across May 23-25, where the Cougars will head to Sacramento, Calif., for the second-consecutive year as student-athletes will look to punch their tickets to the NCAA Championships. The NCAA Outdoor Championships return to the Lone Star State for the first of two years at Mike A. Myers Stadium across June 5-8.
