Three Named to Senior Bowl Watch List

HOUSTON â€" Three members of the #HTownTakeover have been named to the Senior Bowl watch list as Linell Bonner, Steven Dunbar and Nick Thurman were selected. The watch list is made up of student-athletes from across the nation up for consideration of invitations to the 2018 Senior Bowl on Jan. 27, 2018 in Mobile, Ala.

Bonner led the #HTownTakeover with 98 receptions for 1,118 yards and three touchdowns in 2016. He leads all returning receivers in The American Conference and is second among all returners nationally with 98 receptions in 2016, a number that ranked fifth nationally last season.
He became the 19th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in receiving with his 1,118 receiving yards.
Dunbar had 53 receptions for 692 yards and five touchdowns in 2016. The Metairie, La., native has 26 career starts with action in 39 career games and currently ranks 30th on the Houston career receptions chart with 104 receptions.
Bonner and Dunbar make up the top returning pass-catching duo in The American with 151 receptions and the second-best duo nationally. The two trail only Middle Tennessee State's Richie James and Ty Lee who combined for 168 receptions in 2016.
Thurman has seen action in 32 career games with seven career starts, six of which came in 2016 when he finished third on the Houston team with his five quarterback hurries to go along with 5.5 tackles for loss while playing on a three-man defensive line. He finished the year with 26 tackles and two sacks along with two pass breakups.
