MEN'S BASKETBALL

Season tickets for the 2017-18 Houston Men's Basketball program went on sale.
Notes
To enjoy 15 regular-season home games, fans can purchase Reserved season tickets for $200, while General Admission tickets are available for only $100 at uhcougars.com/tickets ... Current season-ticket holders can visit uhcougars.com/tickets and follow the appropriate links to renew their season tickets online at any time ... As the former Hofheinz Pavilion is transformed into the $60-million Fertitta Center, the Cougars will play most of their 2017-18 home games inside Health & PE Arena on the campus of nearby Texas Southern University ... Training camp for the USA Men's National Team begins Aug. 17 and wraps up Aug. 24 inside the Guy V. Lewis Development Facility.
FOOTBALL

Houston sophomore defensive tackle Ed Oliver was a unanimous selection on Sports Illustrated's Preseason All-American Team, and senior receiver Linell Bonner was named to preseason watch list for the Earl Campbell Award. Head Coach Major Applewhite announced the addition of two support staff members in Director of Player Personnel Preston Pehrson and Director of On-Campus Recruiting Joe Alcoser. In addition, former Director of On-Campus Recruiting, Nina Baloun, has taken on the role of Director of Football Internal Operations.

A First-Team All-American on seven teams as a true freshman, Oliver led all returning defensive linemen nationally with 23 tackles for loss in 2016 ... He finished second nationally among all positions in tackles for loss last season while leading all defensive linemen nationally with nine pass breakups ... The number also led all non-defensive backs in The American and was sixth in the league regardless of position ... Bonner led the Cougars with 98 receptions for 1,118 yards and three touchdowns in 2016 ... He leads all returning receivers in The American and is second among all returners nationally with 98 receptions in 2016, a number that ranked fifth nationally ... Fans attending Cage Rage will hear from Applewhite and Vice President for Athletics Hunter Yurachek prior to receiving a first glimpse of the 2017 intro video and a concert from Nashville recording artist Ryan Lafferty.

Houston Men's Golf fans are invited to sign up and join the Cougars for the Insperity Dave Williams Cougar-Am on Sept. 22 at the Cougars' home course of Golf Club of Houston ... The annual event tees off with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22, on the Tournament Course at Golf Club of Houston ... All proceeds from this annual fundraiser benefit Project 17, the Houston Men's Golf booster club ... Against TSU, the Cougars found the back of the net three times with goals from Georgi Dolence (44'), Madison Soileau (54') and Selena Peters (67') ... The win marked the first career head coaching victory for Bocanegra ... Against NAU, Jazmin Grant (2', 10') registered two goals in the first 10 minutes of play before Hannah Dauzat (71') and Kaitlyn Wild (87') tacked on two more for a season-high four goals ... With two goals and one assist last week, Grant was named to the American Athletic Conference Rookie of Week ... Her rookie honor is the first for the program since 2013 ... With seven goals in only two games, the Cougars have matched a third of the goal total from 2016.

Head Coach Ryan Wochomurka and the Houston Swimming & Driving program announced the 2017-18 competition schedule on Monday.
