Bethel, The Bahamas Finish 6th at IAAF World Relays

NASSAU, Bahamas â€" Freshman sprinter Brianne Bethel punched her ticket to the 2017 IAAF World Championships while running for the Bahamas' 4x100-meter relay team at the IAAF World Relay Championships on Sunday.
Running as the second leg of the 4x1, Bethel helped the Bahamas run 44.11 in the preliminary round to qualify fifth overall for the finals. The Bahamian team was back on the track in lane one of the final, where the squad of Devine Parker, Bethel, Tayla Carter and Tynia Gaither ran 44.01 to finish sixth.
With the finals qualification, and their finish in the finals, Bethel and the Bahamian team qualified for the IAAF World Championships in August in London.
Bethel joins sophomore teammate Mario Burke and alum LeShon Collins who punched their tickets to the IAAF World Championships on Saturday. Collins helped lead team USA to the gold medal in the 4x100, while Burke's home country of Barbados took silver in the race.
