THE WOODLANDS, Texas â€" The University of Houston Women's Golf program wrapped up its first home tournament Tuesday with a 10th-place finish at The Dickson at The Woodlands Country Club.
The Cougars posted a team score of 301 during Tuesday's Final Round on the 6,392-yard, par-72 layout and finished the 54-hole event with a total of 889.
For the third straight tournament to open the spring season, sophomore Leonie Harm led the Cougars. The Gerlingen, Germany, native posted a 74 Tuesday and finished in a tie for 18th at 218.
No. 3 Florida State posted the tournament's low score for the third straight round to win the team championship with a total of 21-under 843. No. 10 Kent State finished second at 867, while No. 30 TCU finished third at 868.
No. 17 Texas A&M (869), No. 35 Texas Tech (872), No. 42 SMU (875), No. 18 Purdue (880), No. 8 Oklahoma (882) and UTSA (885) rounded out the top-nine leaders.
Florida State's Morgane Metraux fired her third straight round in the 60s and became the first medalist in the history of The Dickson with a score of 14-under 202. Texas A&M's Maggie Szeryk finished second at 208, while Brigitte Dunne of SMU placed third at 210.
Houston junior Ivon Reijers tied for 33rd at 222, while junior and The Woodlands, Texas, native Allie Andersen tied for 40th at 224. Junior Megan Thothong tied for 47th at 225, while freshman Amanda Elich tied for 67th at 232.
Playing as individuals, junior Courtney Tibiletti enjoyed the Cougars' low round of the day with an even-par 72 and tied for 47th at 225. Sophomore Tatiana Pineda and junior Kelli Rollo tied for 71st at 234, while sophomore Kailey Collier finished 85th at 246.
ABOUT THE DICKSON
This was the first tournament in which the young Houston Women's Golf program played host.
The event was named in honor of Jim Dickson, who recently retired as the director of golf for The Woodlands Country Club and has long been a friend of Houston Men's and Women's Golf.
UP NEXT
Following The Dickson, the Cougars will compete at the MountainView Collegiate on March 10-12 at Mountain View Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.
From there, the team will take part in the Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club on March 17-19 in Mesa, Ariz.
