Reigning American Athletic Conference Champion Houston Baseball will hold its annual Red-White World Series at Schroeder Park, Wednesday, Nov. 1 â€" Friday, Nov. 3 … All three game times are slated for 6:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public … At this time, only 2017 baseball season ticket members will have the opportunity to reserve a seat for 2018, as renewals are available here … Fans wishing to become a season ticket member will have the opportunity to purchase in early 2018 … Season tickets for 29 regular-season home games at Schroeder Park are available for $200 for the reserved chairback seating on the lower level of the concourse of the stadium … For the fourth straight year, the additional "Reserved 2" seating option for the 2018 season is available as fans can purchase an assigned seat in sections 200, 201 and 202 for $150 … General admission seating will run in sections 203-209 and are available for $100 for the entire season.
MEN'S BASKETBALL

Houston Men's Basketball announced a game time change for its Dec. 6 showdown against non-conference rival Fairfield. The Cougars meet the Stags for the first time in school history at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, as part of Education Day.

Elementary school students from across the greater Houston area will join the Cougars inside the arena beginning that morning … Houston will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Game of the Century between Houston and UCLA in 1968 and introduces the 2017-18 squad on Nov. 3 inside the Moores Opera House … Members of the 1967-68 team, including Elvin Hayes and Don Chaney, will join host, CBS Sports broadcaster and UH alumnus Jim Nantz for a round-table discussion beginning at 7 p.m., Nov. 3, inside the Moores Opera House … Players and support staff members from the Game of the Century will share their memories about that game and the impact it still has on college basketball today … Legendary sports broadcaster Dick Enberg â€" who called the play-by-play action for the Game of the Century for TVS network â€" and CBS Sports analyst Seth Davis also will join the panel … Sampson will join the panel and offer his memories of that game … Sampson, his staff and student-athletes from the 2017-18 team will be recognized during the event … The event will then air in January 2018 as part of a documentary on CBS Sports Network celebrating the golden anniversary of the Game of the Century. Chip Rives and Emilie Deutsch will produce the documentary for CBS Sports Network … Entering their fourth season under Sampson, the Cougars open their season Nov. 10 against McNeese inside H&PE Arena on campus of Texas Southern University … Will be the first of 15 regular-season home games in Houston … Season tickets for the 2017-18 campaign are on sale for fans … To enjoy 15 regular-season home games, fans can purchase Reserved season tickets for $200, while General Admission tickets are available for only $100 at uhcougars.com/tickets … Current season-ticket holders can visit uhcougars.com/tickets and follow the appropriate links to renew their season tickets online at any time … As the former Hofheinz Pavilion is transformed into the $60-million Fertitta Center, the Cougars will play their 2017-18 home games inside Health & PE Arena on the campus of nearby Texas Southern University.
CROSS COUNTRY
Last Week
Senior distance runner Brian Barraza took second at the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships, while the men's team finished sixth, and the women's team finished 10th overall on Saturday.

Running one-and-two throughout the course, the race came down to a battle between Barraza and Emmanuel Rotich of Tulane … The duo came out of the woods neck-and-neck, and Barraza crossed the finish line in 25:06.6 … The second-place finish for Barraza earns him All-American Athletic Conference honors and is the highest individual finish for a Cougar since joining the American Athletic Conference and the top place since Tyler Stanfield finished as the runner-up at the 2004 Conference USA Cross Country Championships … Junior G.J. Reyna was the next Cougar across the line, finishing 31st in 26:31.9, while senior Christopher Wallace crossed right on his teammate's heels in 26:35.6 to place 33rd … The Cougar men finished sixth overall with 159 points … The Women were in action for a 6,000-meter race, and it was senior Jennifer Dunlap who led Houston through the first split in 32nd at 5:59.40 … However, it was sophomore Meredith Sorensen who would cross the finish line first for the Cougars, finishing in 23:02.5 to place 36th, while Dunlap would follow shortly after in 23:17.2 to finish … The Cougar women finished 10th overall with 245 points … Full results can be found by clicking here.

Sophomore quarterback D'Eriq King was named The American Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts on Saturday … At USF, King rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns while passing for 137 yards and one score … King's two rushing touchdowns came in the final 6:20 of the game including a game-winning 20-yard run with 11 seconds remaining in the game … King, who has spent the majority of the season at wide receiver, entered the game at quarterback on the game's third drive and completed 12-of-20 pass attempts while rushing 20 times … His 83 rushing yards were part of a 255 total rushing yards by Houston against the nation's No. 9 rushing defense entering the game … The Bulls were allowing an average of only 94.4 yards per game prior to Saturday's contest … King was protective of the ball as well, not throwing an interception to the nation's leading team in interceptions … Sophomore punter Dane Roy recorded four punts inside the 20-yard line … For full postgame notes, click here … Head Coach Major Applewhite held his annual press conference Monday … Transcribed quotes can be found here … On Monday, sophomore defensive tackle Ed Oliver was named a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, presented annually to the nation's top defensive player by The Maxwell Football Club … Oliver leads the nation with a career average of 1.50 tackles for loss per game, totaling 32 in only 20 career games played.

Houston Softball announced an LED, Daktronics video board is coming to Cougar Softball Stadium in Spring 2018.

According to Daktronics, the new outfield video board will be the fifth largest at an on-campus softball stadium in the country and the largest in the state of Texas … The board, which will sit just beyond the left-field wall, will stand 29-feet-3.1-inches tall and measure 24-feet-4.0-inches wide with 576 square feet of space (24-feet by 24-feet) for live video, instant replays, statistics and scoring information, graphics and animations, and sponsor messages … The display features a 13HD pixel layout for crisp, clear imagery for a great view from every seat at the stadium … Full release here.

At Temple, senior setter Keandra McCardell recorded her third double-double of the season and 32nd of her career in a 14-assist, 10-dig effort … At UConn, senior outside hitter Sarah Afflerbaugh and freshman setter Abby Irvine each posted double-doubles … Afflerbaugh finished with 15 kills and 18 digs, while Irvine tallied 27 assists and 15 digs … The UConn victory marked Houston's first in a five-set match in 2017.
